Riviera Paklenica and Zadar Region

The Paklenica Riviera stretches between southern slopes of the Velebit mountain and the Adriatic Sea, from St. Marija Magdalena on the northwest to Modrič – a small village on the southeast.

Starigrad-Paklenica - a northdalmatian town arose on the foundations of the ancient Roman city of Argyruntum, with around 1.300 inhabitants. Todady it is a small tourist center, very popular among hikers, climbers and adventurers.

The Paklenica National Park in its immediate vicinity, is an area of unimpaired nature, rich on flora and fauna, as well as geomorphological shapes.

The combination of the sea and the mountains makes this area irresistible for numerous nature lovers. The Paklenica Riviera is also rich in natural pebble beaches, ideal for family vacations, and the Velebit channel is a paradise for divers and sea-activity lovers.

Apart from National park Paklenica and Nature park Velebit, there are another three national parks in a diameter of a few dozen kilometers (Plitvička jezera, Kornati and Krka) and two parks of nature: Vrana Lake and Telašćica.

Zadar, an old roman city, is only 45 km apart from Starigrad. With its many museums, roman center, churches and many other attractions, such are summer concerts and festivals, is definitely a "must-visit" place. There are many more small pictoresque and charming places worth visiting – on the coast, islands or in the hinterland; Nin, Pag, Benkovac, Biograd and others.
